Post and Insurance Age content director Jonathan Swift has written and commented about the insurance industry since 1998. He has appeared on television speaking about topics as diverse as the insurance implications of Michael Jackson's death to the consequences of consolidation on motor premiums; and is a past winner of the British Insurance Brokers' Association journalist of the year and Association of British Insurers general insurance trade journalist prizes.
Jonathan has chaired/ hosted over 100 insurance events from roundtables involving a small specially invited audience, to addressing over 2000 people at the British Insurance Awards at the Royal Albert Hall. He is listed as a top 50 insurtech influencer by Insurtech News and presently coordinates the All Party Parliamentary Group for Insurance and Financial Services.

Suzanne has over 25 years’ experience working within the insurance sector, holding a variety of roles largely in Home Claims, covering claims & complaint handling, through to more than a decade as Technical Claims Manager.

Suzanne’s role encompasses working closely with colleagues in Claims, Pricing and Underwriting to ensure that claims journeys provide the best possible outcome for customers as well as managing indemnity spend, while looking after a team of technical claims handlings, who manage our largest & most complex claims.

She has a specific interest in social mobility and providing opportunities for everyone, having previously participated in a mentoring programme for pupils in schools within lower socio-economic backgrounds, helping to build confidence & communication skills along with career advice. Suzanne is a firm believer than everyone can learn and succeed with the right approach and support.

Suzanne holds a CII Diploma in Insurance.

In this session we will explore how insurers are innovating to address ongoing property claims issues such as escape of water to subsidence; looking at how new technologies from drones to IoT have made a difference in terms of how these clams are handled.

Having been at AXA for almost 20 years, Chris Walsh has been working predominantly in the commercial arena, specialising in claims. He started his insurance career at GRE Insurance developing his technical knowledge, before moving into leadership positions and then turning to customer facing roles. Eventually he transitioned back into operational leadership and has most recently been appointed the Claims Director at AXA Commercial, where he is responsible for the business’ overall commercial claims service, delivery and proposition.
