Post and Insurance Age content director Jonathan Swift has written and commented about the insurance industry since 1998. He has appeared on television speaking about topics as diverse as the insurance implications of Michael Jackson's death to the consequences of consolidation on motor premiums; and is a past winner of the British Insurance Brokers' Association journalist of the year and Association of British Insurers general insurance trade journalist prizes.
Jonathan has chaired/ hosted over 100 insurance events from roundtables involving a small specially invited audience, to addressing over 2000 people at the British Insurance Awards at the Royal Albert Hall. He is listed as a top 50 insurtech influencer by Insurtech News and presently coordinates the All Party Parliamentary Group for Insurance and Financial Services.

Ian Kershaw is Head of Injury Claims at Co-op Insurance, responsible for strategic and operational performance of all injury and fraud claims. He has over 16 years of experience in insurance litigation.
Prior to joining Co-op Insurance in January 2016, Ian was a Partner at Parabis Law LLP where he held a senior management position within the insurance department, dealing primarily with large volume contracts for insurer clients. During his time Ian led several departmental transformations for both the claimant and defendant divisions within the firm, giving him a unique insight into all areas of insurance claims.

Bought By Many was recently awarded the Contribution to Gender Diversity Award at the Women in Insurance Awards, and was named the UK's most trusted pet insurer by MoneyWise last year.

Martin has over 20 years experience in general insurance in various operational and technical roles, predominantly within Churchill Insurance. During that time he got involved in a variety of issues including being heavily involved in the creation of the Credit Hire GTA.
In 2003 he became claims fraud manager for RBS insurance and was involved in the formation of the Insurance Fraud Bureau.
In 2006 he joined LV= and is now claims director, managing personal and commercial lines claims across a range of LV= brands.
Martin is married with three children and is a keen Leeds United supporter.

John Pyall

John Pyall has a M.B.A. and a Post Graduate degree in Business Administration. He has worked twenty-five years for Munich Reinsurance. Originally in the legal section of their Claims Department in London has now returned there to be responsible for claims arising from their Great Lakes Facilitated operation, in the meantime he spent five years as Regional Head of Claims and Underwriting Services in their Singapore Office, then head office in Munich as coordinator of their international claims departments in Asia Pacific And Africa and on to Hong Kong, heading up the regional claims unit as well as continuing his role as the Claims Co-ordinator for their International Organisation.
Among other articles, he has been author and technical editor of the Chartered Insurance Institute book on Reinsurance and author of the Claims section of the Chartered Insurance Institute book on Practice of Reinsurance. He is also a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and a qualified mediator. He has lectured for the Chartered Insurance Institute, Singapore College of Insurance, Asia Insurance Review, London Guildhall University and for a number of other clients and societies on different aspects of, insurance claims, wordings and reinsurance.

Adele Sumner

Adele Sumner is the Head of Counter Fraud Strategy & Financial Crime at RSA Insurance UK. She has over twenty years of ‘hands on’ experience in counter fraud activity in the insurance sector, including leading RSA’s Fraud Intelligence Team where she developed techniques and experience in the use of the internet, both to assist individual investigations and to obtain data that will enhance fraud detection models. She is widely acknowledged for her expertise in the practical deployment and use of technology to identify fraud and has been an important figure in various fraud technology programmes both in RSA and at an industry level. In her current role she is responsible for developing strategies to tackle fraud and adopts a risk focused, intelligence led approach to combating the external threat fraud posed to RSA. In 2008 she obtained a Master Degree in Fraud Management from Teesside University.

Lee Watts joined Allianz as head of casualty claims in November 2015. Lee has over 25 years of insurance industry experience, having also worked at Commercial Union, AIG and QBE, where most recently he held the position of claims investigation services manager.
Lee is responsible for leading the development and implementation of technical claims strategy and best practice across all casualty & disease claims along with oversight of claims fraud across all lines of business.
Lee represents Allianz in market initiatives and contributes to industry discussion and press articles. Lee is a Director of Claims Portal Ltd and a member of the Insurance Fraud Taskforce Legacy group.
