Post and Insurance Age editor-in-chief Jonathan Swift has written and commented about the insurance industry for over 12 and a half years during his time at Incisive Media. He has appeared on television speaking about topics as diverse as the insurance implications of Michael Jackson's death to the consequences of consolidation on motor premiums; and is a past winner of the British Insurance Brokers' Association journalist of the year and Association of British Insurers general insurance trade journalist prizes.

Nick began his career at the General Accident before moving to Northern Star which in 2000, together with Bishopsgate, became Fortis Insurance. Nick has spent all his time in general insurance claims and is best known for his handling of the aftermath of the Selby rail disaster in 2001. He also sits on a number of ABI and other industry committees.

Peter has overall responsibility for LV='s claims operation of over 800 staff. Peter has been in the insurance industry for 30 years and was a founder of Direct Line, which transformed the entire industry, along with Peter Wood and Martin Long. Peter is an ebullient character; well known in the industry for his enthusiasm, knowledge and commitment to his job. Peter's approach is one of focusing and developing people to offer the best possible claims experience to customers.

Peter has made a huge difference at LV=. The claims operation has changed dramatically in the last three years. In 2006 the company had a poor reputation for its claims service, high fraud rates and over 30% staff turnover. LV='s claims operation is now one of the highest rated in the industry, winning several awards over the last 12 months including a Which peoples choice, a Personal Finance awards for customer service and has 92% satisfaction scores amongst its customers.

Geoff Leeks
An insurance professional with over 20 years' experience, latterly in a number of senior managerial position with market leading insurers. Currently responsible for developing and implementing strategy for the management of large and complex losses, legal expense claims, and costs drafting at RBSI.

Other roles include responsibility for all types of PI, own damage and third party claims across personal and commercial lines. A member of the ABI Motor and Liability Claims Panel High Level Group and representative on Ministry of Justice and Civil Justice Counsel working parties. Have undertaken strategic leadership programmes at Harvard Business School, Edinburgh and Henley Management Centre

Andrew McBride

Andrew has 20 years insurance experience, principally focused on claims. He began his insurance career with Guardian Royal Exchange, continuing with AXA in a number of senior claims roles until he left to join Aon in 2002. He joined QBE in 2005 and is claims director of QBE European Operations.

Stephen has 27 years' claims experience at both insurance and broker companies, dealing with significant claims in liability, property, motor and professional classes in the UK and internationally. David has over 20 Years experience in General Insurance, roles including chief commercial underwriter, reinsurance manager, casualty insurance manager, and now claims director. David is a member of the National Stakeholder Council for the Governments "Workplace Health Connect" initiative, a board member of the CII / CILA Faculty of Claims, and was a director of Thatcham for 4 years. He is also a member of the AXA Group Claims Board.
